Ok Ok so it was only flurries...but BOY do I wish we could have about 3 feet!
Oh well, until then, we'll go ahead with school....
6th: Today in class we watched 2 short video clips from www.thefutureschannel.com about how Barbie and Hotwheel designers might use the math we have been learning in class. Students were then given an assignment to create a poster size tree diagram with either Barbie outfit options or with Hotwheel car design options. They will also include on the poster how this process can be shortened by using the Fundamental Counting Principle. We will complete the project in class tomorrow and have a quiz on the topics on Friday. No HW tonight!
7th: Today in class students were given a quiz on the coordinate plane and plotting points. After the quiz we discussed how you can work backwards to convert from a given graph into an equation. We will touch more on this subject tomorrow, no HW tonight.
8th - 2nd Block: Today in class students began to teach data analysis. "How to determine between fair and biased questions" and "How to determine if data was collected fairly and is credible" were the topics covered. Student will continue to lead the class for the next week.
8th - 4th Block: Today in class we continued to look at how to interpret data from a graph. We will wrap up this discussion tomorrow by talking about how to make predictions from a given graph. We will have a quiz on Interpreting Data from a Graph on Friday.
