Crazy Hazy Day!!

Crazy - That's what my day was, how about you? I feel like the school year is flying by already!! Can we make it stop!?!? Anyone else need a snow day already?

6th: Completed talking about the basics of decimals. We watched a “brainpop" on Rounding Decimals after a few technical difficulties! Tomorrow we will discuss how writing decimals in word form is useful when writing checks. We will have a quiz Friday on Place Value, Writing Decimals, Rounding, Comparing, and Ordering Decimals.

7th: Today in class we started talking about Proportions. We were able to watch a “brainpop” on Proportions and talk about how to solve them. We talked about the similarities between analogies in Language Arts and Proportions in Math. We did a worksheet titled "Secret Code" for classwork.

8th-2nd Block: Today we discussed the Real Number System. We used a chart to classify number into subsets within the set of real numbers. We also developed two visuals to show the real number system, one as a tree map and one using a Venn diagram type organizer. Tomorrow in class students will build their own 3D representation of the real number system.

8th-4th Block: Today we discussed the Real Number System. We used a chart to classify number into subsets within the set of real numbers. We also developed two visuals to show the real number system, one as a tree map and one using a Venn diagram type organizer. We talked about how each of the grade level teams in our school are a subset of the Warrior team and how each homebase is a subset of their respective grade level team, just as Rational and Irrational Numbers are subsets of Real Numbers and Integers and Wholes are a subset of Rational Numbers. Tomorrow we will work more with classifying Real Numbers.
