A "Nerdy Kinda Day" is the Best!

6th: We began the day this morning with a review of adding and subtracting decimals and led right into the application of using a check register to keep up with an account. Students should finish #11-17 on their check register for HW and write a well written letter to their parents asking to open a checking account. Students, be sure to include what we had been learning in class and solid reasons that they should say "yes" in your letter! Quiz on Estimating, Adding and Subtracting Decimals tomorrow!
7th:Today we watched a video about a Hotwheels designer( http://www.thefutureschannel.com/dockets/hands-on_math/designing_toy_cars/ ), then had a great discussion on scale models and drawings. Students should complete worksheets p390 and 112 for HW.
8th-2nd block: We watched a "really Nerdy" video on Pythagorean Theorem in class today! http://students.ed.uiuc.edu/strysick/eport/math.htm Click here to see it again and print the words :) We completed our discussion on Pythagorean Theorem. Students should do worksheet p CC-52 for HW. Quiz Tomorrow, Test Friday!
8th-4th block: Today in class we looked again at Pythagorean Theorem focusing on using Pythagorean Triples. Students will complete Pythagorean Theorem tomorrow and should be ready for a test Friday!
