So close, but yet so far.

Wow we are so close to the end of this year, but there is still so much to be done! Please help me remind your children that even as the days draw nigh to summer and we are all excited, we must still focus on the task at hand just a few more weeks!

6th: Today we went over the correct answers from the quiz students took yesterday on Transformations. Many students admitted to not studying for this quiz and lots of careless errors were made. Everyone need more study on this concept before the test on Friday. We also began 3D figures today with a review of elementary school 3D figure curriculum. We will cover Surface Area and Volume of Rectangular Prisms tomorrow and have a test on all of Geometry on Friday. Below are the topics that will be covered on this test and suggestions for study.

Lines and Angles-

Classify 2D figures

Area, Perimeter, and Circumference

Transformations

3D Figures

7th: Today we looked at applications of the Pythagorean Theorem. Students will have a quiz on Pythagorean Theorem tomorrow.  You could study this http://regentsprep.org/Regents/math/fpyth/PracPyth.htm

8th: Both classes covered Graphing Quadratic Functions today in class. We will review tomorrow and have a Common Assessment test on Friday. This test will include the following Algebra topics:
Graphing Linear Function using a table,
Graphing Linear Equations in Slope Intercept and Standard Forms,
Writing an equation given the slope and y-intercepts, slope and a point, or two points.
Solve and graph systems of linear equations,
Graph and understand the solution to a linear inequality.
Interpret the slope, y-intercept, and x-intercept in from a real life setting
Graph Non-Linear (Quadratic) Functions
